Gary Callaghan is the Master Hand Engraver at present who followed in his father’s footsteps as a professional Hand Engraver fully serving a 7-year apprenticeship signed & sealed by Raymond H Wilkins of Hatton Garden.

Having been selected from a long line of willing talented candidates, he then went on to further his career with G M Betser the Resident hand engravers for Asprey’s of Bond St where he remained for over 6 years and become a “Goldsmiths Craft Council” award winner on numerous occasions.

Today “MHE” is the official patented & registered Hallmark at the “London Assay Office” and appears on all of our signet rings, cuff links and special commissions etc

I recently found a 19th century signet ring with a very cryptic monogram. I contacted various engravers and historians for help in reading the inscription and would rate Gary's response, help, and advice as amongst the top of the best I received. Definitely a man to ask again should I come across a similar puzzle. Thank you.

My experience with this company was incredible. As I am based in Cape Town I was delighted to see that in fact there was a workshop in Green Point, Cape Town as well as London. I had the privilege of meeting the master engraver in person to discuss the design of my signet ring. My second time making use of Hallmark International's services and both times I received excellent service. I had a ring made for my youngest son's 18th birthday. He wanted a crown on the signet ring, as this symbolizes the meaning of his name. I encountered problems on the website to upload my image and was assisted through whattsapp without any qualms and very patiently. Although the emoji's used was a bit confusing:) My son was ecstatic about his ring!! Now this month for my eldest son's 21st birthday another ring was the obvious choice and he chose eagle wings, which was a great replacement for the traditional key. Once again service, price and product were outstanding. Happy to recommend this company should you want a personalized signet ring!!! I am sure my orders were not in your usual price class (much less), but it was treated as if it was of the most expensive. Will definitely promote your great service and rings!!
